Mopar Big Block Serpentine Belt Conversion

Conversion Kit

This kit is designed as a significant performance upgrade to modernize any vehicle that uses a big block mopar engine. The serpentine belt conversion uses mostly factory parts.

The alternator is a 120 amp Nippendenso unit from a 98 dodge magnum engine. The 140 amp alternator will fit as well. For both of these swaps you will need to upgrade the main power wire that comes from the alternator, a 10 gauge wire is preferred.

The power steering pump is from a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee, a custom spacer is provided to adapt a 98 dodge magnum power steering pump pulley to this pump.

Big Block Serpentine front viewThe a/c unit is from a 98 dodge magnum engine as well and will require no modification, other than custom lines being made for your specific application.

This water pump is a Milodon high volume unit with an anti-cavitation plate. A custom spacer is supplied to attach the dodge magnum water pump pulley to the water pump. This pump can be spun in the reverse rotation that’s required for this setup without any problems.

The crank pulley from a dodge magnum engine is used as well and there is a custom spacer supplied for this as well. (You will need longer bolts to bolt on the crank pulley)

Custom brackets to mount all the parts are supplied and are based off of dodge magnum V-8 parts. The brackets are designed to mount the new system to a mopar performance aluminum water pump housing. (it should fit other water pump housings but no others have been tested with this kit, shimming might be required)

This kit is also designed to use a spring tensioner from an Astro van, Autozone Part number ( contact us), this will keep the belt tensioned under all conditions. A custom bracket is supplied to mount the tensioner.

This kit can also be used with March Performance underdrive pulleys that fit a dodge magnum V-8 engine. The kit includes pulleys for the crank, waterpump, and alternator. An optional billet idler pulley can be supplied.
